My work focus with Kurtosys centered on our Secure Portal and InvestorPress financial industry products. My team was responsible for feature development and bug resolution for our multi-tenant platform.
Our stack included AngularJS 1.x and C# using the Orchard framework on the front-end and Java Spring services connected to MemSQL and MS-SQL on the back end. Development tasks primarily involved report and chart creation and alteration (via HighCharts and ChartDirector), multi-factor authentication, user role taxonomies and entitlements and client data validation.
Our global team utilized agile ceremonies to manage five client projects through to production. We simplified development operations with OctoDeploy, TeamCity and the Atlassian suite.
As a web application developer I was tasked with: adding functionality, maintaining, optimizing and debugging our multilingual .NET based web application suite with AngularJS, Visual Studio 2014, TFS for work items and version control and maintaining T-SQL databases with SQL Server Studio.
Extended a prototype AngularJS single page application from team level to department level using WordPress as the backend for it's CMS. Trained team on WordPress installation, content editing and taxonomy. Created multi-role user hierarchy so subject matter experts could build out their own presence within the app.
Assisted with other various projects including a down time log app and design of components used throughout the app. Worked closely with Product Managers and Team Leads to create training documentation to ensure editors could easily continue working on their sites independently.
In this role I handled a wide variety of software design and development tasks for our award winning web based insurance software suite. Some of the more technically advanced responsibilities have included projects like development of a line of business process including quoting, billing and policy binding, creating a database driven templated underwriting system and dynamic optional coverage rate calculations using AJAX and SQL.
